George Steinbrenner Dead - New York Yankees Owner Dies at 80

New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner died this morning after suffering a "massive" heart attack.

A rep for the Steinbrenner family has released a statement saying, "It is with profound sadness that the family of George M. Steinbrenner III announces his passing. He passed away this morning in Tampa, Fla., at age 80."

The rep adds, "Funeral arrangements will be private. There will be an additional public service with details to be announced at a later date."

Steinbrenner liked the characterization, and 'Seinfeld' loved it -- the mega-hit '90s sitcom featured a recurring portrayal of The Boss, with Larry David voicing the larger-than-life Yanks owner. The gag was such a hit, Steinbrenner himself made a cameo.

While the baseball world will certainly miss George Steinbrenner, his passing will certainly be felt by "Seinfeld" fans as well. Voiced by Larry David, the Yankees owner was depicted in a loving, yet bumbling manner, and was always hilarious. So in honor of Big Stein, here are some of the best moments. Still can't believe he traded Jay Buhner.
