It has been confirmed that an update will be released for Xbox 360.
Microsoft’s Larry Hryb confirmed:
Xbox 360 Live Update contains support for USB Memory storage device. During the next few hours when you log in to Xbox live, you may receive an update informing you to accept the mandatory latest update. So just accept the update and you will be back online in a few seconds.
